Among the Churches

Chula Vista, California (First Church).—First Church of Christ, Scientist, Chula Vista, was dedicated at morning and afternoon services on Sunday, March 26, 1939, which were attended by a large number of persons from neighboring communities.

As is the custom, the usual order of service was followed, except for the reading of a short historical sketch tracing the growth of the local church.

The dedication marked a milestone in the church's progress, as Christian Scientists do not dedicate their buildings until they are free from debt.

In 1918 a Christian Science Society was formed, which, in 1927, became First Church of Christ, Scientist, Chula Vista. The following year the building was erected.
