Extracts from Reports of Christian ScienceCommittees on Publication

In "Miscellaneous Writings" Mrs. Eddy says (p. 69): "The Principle of Christian Science is divine. Its rule is, that man shall utilize the divine power." The past year has afforded us many opportunities of proving the truth of this statement, for we have been protected in being permitted to continue our services in the house lent us by the Government. At the same time we have been able to purchase a building site for our church in one of the most beautiful sections of the city of Mexico.

This plot of ground was promptly deeded to the Federal Government, on the condition that we be authorized to build on it a church for the exclusive use of First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Mexico City. The land was bought on December 27, 1937, and the contract signed with the Federal Government on March 8, 1938.

This Committee had the privilege of arranging these matters with the Government and also arranging with the Secretaria de Gobernacion the necessary permissions to hold services in the new structure when built. Copies of the Monitor were circulated among the Government officials to great advantage.
