The order of church services and meetings is set forth...

Metropolitan Host

The order of church services and meetings is set forth in the Manual of The Mother Church, by Mary Baker Eddy, and there is no provision for outside speakers.

Christian Scientists have the greatest respect for those devoted men and women of the medical profession who are so unselfishly giving their time to the service of mankind by striving to alleviate pain and disease. There should be no sense of rivalry or controversy in the philanthropic work of helping our fellow men. Though our methods may differ, our aim, in so far as we strive to heal and save, is the same. While the Christian Scientist depends wholly upon the practice of Christian Science as his remedial agency, he concedes to others the right to choose their own form of treatment.

Mrs. Eddy writes in "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 4): "A genuine Christian Scientist loves Protestant and Catholic, D. D. and M. D.,—loves all who love God, good; and he loves his enemies. It will be found that, instead of opposing, such an individual subserves the interests of both medical faculty and Christianity, and they thrive together, learning that Mind-power is good will towards men."
