In your issue of today you give extracts from a pamphlet on Christian Science written by a Leeds graduate. He admits that Christian Science "has given to many people a new and healthier outlook on life," and that many people have risen superior to their ailments by following its teachings. Even so, he declares it to be harmful, and utterly unacceptable to any Christian. The Christian Science movement is composed largely of people who previously were members of other denominations, during which time they were accounted good Christians, but failed to find satisfaction for their spiritual hunger, or the practical signs of Christianity which Christ Jesus said should "follow them that believe."

After Mrs. Eddy's discovery of the divine Principle which Christ Jesus practiced, she too employed spiritual means for healing. She never spoke unkindly of medical men or women. But she demonstrated that the sick can be healed without the aid of drugs, and followed the Master in this respect.

Christian Science has a definite message of hope and comfort for the poor and afflicted. Many of the so-called poor turn to Christian Science, and as they gain a better understanding of the nature of God and of their relationship to Him, they learn that lack, limitation, and poverty are not in accord with God's will for man. They also learn how erroneous beliefs may be overcome, and how God's law applied meets every human need. The student of Christian Science need not remain poor, for he learns that he has a loving Father, who is forever saying to each of His children, "Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine."
