"Up to the age of twenty"

[Written Especially for Young People]

What a joyous privilege it is to attend the Christian Science Sunday School! The invitation to do this is lovingly extended to students of Christian Science "up to the age of twenty years" (Manual of The Mother Church, Art. XX, Sect. 1). Here may be found true spiritual refreshment for those hungering and thirsting after righteousness. But perhaps not all who attend fully appreciate the opportunity afforded them of learning more of God and man's relationship to Him.

One pupil found himself confronted with a host of erroneous suggestions, such as: You don't have time to study your Sunday school lesson; you are too busily engaged in social activity, and there are too many counterattractions; you must catch up on your sleep rather than attend Sunday school today. He also found that a sense of mental apathy or utter indifference seemed to prevail in his consciousness. When he was finally aroused from this lethargic state, he had many inspiring proofs of the healing power of God as the result of applying the spiritual understanding he had gained in attending the Sunday school.

Young students of Christian Science should attend regularly, not from a sense of duty or as the result of parents' influence, but with the sincere desire to gain an increased understanding of the Christ, Truth. This understanding will prove applicable to every human problem. It is therefore of inestimable value to them to attend the Sunday school "up to the age of twenty years."
