"The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined." The reading of this passage from Isaiah recently, during the study of the Lesson-Sermon for that week, stirred in me a deep sense of gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me and mine.

Nearly four years ago, I was seemingly a helpless invalid, as a result of a nervous breakdown and exhaustion. My one great trouble was that I could hardly walk around the house at times, and had to have everything done for me. I was like that for about three years. The last two months of the time I was flat on my back, hopeless and waiting for the end, with all material help exhausted; but I did not want to give up. I had heard a little about Christian Science, so I turned to God and Christian Science with all my heart, as the last and only thing to do. A Christian Science nurse was installed and treatment begun at once. Within six weeks I was doing most of the general household duties, and walking too. I have had untold blessings since that time, for which I am most grateful. I have seen the healing of St. Vitus's dance, ptomaine poisoning, scarlet rash, and blood poisoning in the hand.

I am very grateful for the truth the children are learning in the Sunday school about God,—Life, Truth, and Love. I thank God more every day for the better understanding of Him I have gained through this teachings; also our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and the faithful practitioners and kind friends who gave me such loving help in time of trouble. I am also grateful for our literature. I hope this testimony will reach some who are, perhaps, as wretched as I was. If they are willing to turn to this healing truth, there is help for them at hand also.
