Among the Churches

Current Notes

Catskill, N. Y. (Society).—The corner stone for the new church building of Christian Science Society of Catskill, New York, was laid April 21, 1923, at 9 a.m. Christian Science was first introduced in Catskill in 1916, and although the growth has not been large in numbers, the work that has been accomplished is very great; and they (the Christian Scientists) have worked only to magnify the Word of God as it was revealed to their Leader through the Bible and the works of Christ Jesus, and in turn to them through the Bible, the works of Christ Jesus, and the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." Jesus said to his disciples: "Ye are the salt of the earth.... Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid." Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 367), "Let us watch, work, and pray that this salt lose not its saltness, and that this light be not hid, but radiate and glow into noontide glory."—Catskill Examiner.
