That peace-laden message, "The truth shall make you...

That peace-laden message, "The truth shall make you free," came to me when I was discouraged and unhappy, suffering acute pain, and mentally miserable because of an all-pervading fear. When a kind practitioner told me somewhat of the meaning of this truth, it came as a new and inspiring message, though I had heard the words many times before. It rang in my ears for days, and as I pondered its significance, as revealed in the teachings of Christian Science, it seemed that I was casting off some old, worn-out garment. The freedom from physical and mental bondage which I gained was to me wonderful, and I began to share in the peace that "passeth all understanding." The healing was slow, but it has been complete, and the monster of fear that held me has been destroyed through the truth revealed. The sense of exhaustion and nervousness has disappeared, and with it went aching eyes and an ailment which my physician had told me might develop into something serious, if I did not take great care of myself. These ills have all gone, and they have been replaced by "the freer step, the fuller breath, ... the Life that maketh all things new," as one of our hymns expresses it.

With a heart full of love to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, who has shown us "the way," let me gratefully say I have proven, though in small degree, the blessed truth disclosed to us by our Leader's words in the Preface of Science are Health (p. vii.)—"To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, today is big with blessings."
