At the Canterbury Diocesan Conference, Canon Gardiner...

Manchester (Eng.) South District Advertiser

At the Canterbury Diocesan Conference, Canon Gardiner declared that the religion which ignored the spiritual element in healing was not the Christianity of Christ, and that the church needed to accept our Lord's attitude toward sickness and disease, and overcome them in the power of God through Jesus Christ. Christian Science teaches that this can be achieved only by realizing that no evil, whether sin or sickness or death, is the work of God, who is Life and Love and the author of all things; hence that evil can only occur as an experience of our human senses and can have no existence as a reality in the absolute truth. So it is that Christian Scientists are proving every day that an understanding in some measure of this absolute truth destroys evil, proving also thereby that the Christianity of Christ is available today to heal and save as it did nineteen hundred years ago on the shore of the Galilean sea.
