I awoke one morning with every indication of a severe attack of illness. I was teaching in the country and boarding with a sister who is not a Scientist, so had no one to help me. I applied my own knowledge of Christian Science the best I could, but got no relief. My brother-in-law went to town the next day, and arriving there at noon told another sister of my condition, and she commenced at once to treat me. I immediately began to improve, and by the time school was out at four o'clock I was perfectly well, except for a swelling in my throat of which she knew nothing. This became so bad that I could scarcely swallow at all, and could not make myself understood when trying to talk. When I arrived home on Friday evening and my sister learned of my other trouble, she took up treatment for it, and by the next morning I was able to speak plainly. The following day all soreness had vanished.
