If the Christian Scientists can find a better way to escape...

If the Christian Scientists can find a better way to escape the ills the flesh has been heir to from time immemorial, why not let them do it? If they can save drunkards and victims of drugs and patent medicines by a new application of theology, and by striving for a higher plane of mentality elevate the individual into better bodily health and a more joyous spiritual state, let them do it.

The ordinary observer is struck by some peculiarities of these people that differ from the orthodox churches, and if they are good things why rail at them? Their churches conduct few funerals, do not conduct sociables, nor have much business for the divorce court lawyers. They are getting new results out of Christianity which some of the most progressive orthodox churches are beginning to strive after.
