I suffered unspeakably, not only physically, but mentally, for I was confronted by the necessity of giving up my profession, which had become very dear to me. It was very hard for me to perform my duties. About a year ago, disease gained control of my entire system, and I broke down, becoming so melancholy that I turned from every one and everything, because I considered myself no longer of any use in the world. Just then, dear friends gave me some Christian Science literature to read and thus brought a ray of light to my consciousness, and I looked for refuge in this truth. How I reached the Scientist that day, is still a wonder to me, yet hope rose immediately as I recognized in one of the practitioners a dear old friend of mine, who undertook my case.
