Fiction: “Christian Scientists aren’t supposed to feel sad or indulge negative emotions.”
Fact: Really? Jesus got angry with the Pharisees once. He was upset by their rigid focus on religious rules when there was a man who badly needed healing (see Mark 3:5 ). He also wept when his friend Lazarus died (see John 11:35 ). Anger and grief would certainly qualify as strong negative emotions.
