Pregnancy fears overcome
In 2011 I became pregnant with our first child. Five months into the pregnancy, a checkup re-
vealed that the baby had a serious issue with the development of his skull. In the sixth month, I had a miscarriage. It was a very difficult time for my husband and me.
During this time, I was a student of Christian Science and beginning to study it more deeply. I had recently taken Christian Science Primary class instruction, and my better understanding of this Science is what got me through this experience. I knew that this baby was very much a full idea in Mind, a name for God given in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. As Science and Health explains, “Infinite Mind is the creator, and creation is the infinite image or idea emanating from this Mind” (pp. 256–257). This understanding helped to heal my grief.
