My dog was healed!

When I was in fifth grade, our family went on vacation and my dog, Holly, stayed in a kennel.

When we came back and picked her up, we noticed that she was coughing in an alarming way. We took her to the vet, and the lady said that she had "kennel cough." My mom and I decided to pray. We thought about how it says in the Bible that God made all kinds of animals "and God saw that it was good" (Gen. 1:25). I started to think that this cough was not part of Holly because God did not create her like this in a material way. When I prayed, I would always start with the thought that she was spiritual, whole, and complete.

When we got home, I went to get my Science and Health, and I read, "Spirit's senses are without pain, and they are forever at peace" (pp. 214–215). I really liked that sentence because it told me that God is Spirit and Spirit does not have pain or sickness. I knew Holly was safe because God created her perfectly and not a thing could be missing in her because she was part of God's perfect creation. Mom and I also called a Christian Science practitioner to help us pray for Holly.
