I'm glad I'm a Christian Scientist

A few months ago, I was visiting my friend Matt's house. Matt had just gotten a new bike. As soon as he told me that, I wanted to try it out. So we went outside, and I got on the bike.

I started to pedal slowly, then faster. After I rode around one block, I started to head back. When I pulled into the driveway, I put on the brakes. I came to such a sudden stop that I flipped over the handlebars and landed on my hip.

The minute this happened, I immediately started to pray. I remembered what I'd learned from Sunday School—that there was only God's reality, which was good. The accident was the complete opposite of good. It couldn't hurt God's child. I also thought about how God guarded and governed me. Even though I had scrapes on my knees and elbows, I knew that this was the truth about myself.
