Don't be afraid you'll fall

You can't fall out of God's care.

As I hurried into the bathroom to shower after a swim in a friend's pool, I slipped on the tile floor. Even before I landed I called to my friends, "I'm all right," so that they wouldn't be disturbed by the crash.

Picking myself up, I got into the shower and turned on the water. My knee was swelling rapidly. With a calm and forceful "No," I turned my thought away from the injury and focused my attention on the spiritual facts of my nature as God's likeness, perfect in every way.

I was able to respond so decisively because of the confidence in God's care for me which I had gained that morning while reading accounts in the Bible and Science and Health of God's love for His children. I knew I could trust Him to care for me as well. My confidence had also been bolstered by an instance of His protection earlier that day when I'd been able to avert an automobile accident.
