Taking a look back at my situation about twenty years ago, I...

Taking a look back at my situation about twenty years ago, I have to give gratitude to God, who led me to a religion that has greatly blessed my life and proves to me that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Ps. 46:1).

I learned that God is the preserver of man; He doesn't forget His children, because He is Love and is omnipresent and omniscient. Unexpectedly, and at just the right time, someone offered me financial assistance so that I was able to continue my schooling at one of the most prestigious colleges in Jakarta. I never regarded this as just human assistance, but rather the heavenly Father's helping hand.

Anyone who is willing to turn to God can find such divine provision. Opportunities open up when we are willing to rely on Him for every decision we make. Jeremiah writes: "Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit" (17:7, 8).
