I have relied on Christian Science for more than sixty years. In the October 1974 issue of The Christian Science Journal some healings I have had are recorded; but there are so many more experiences I have had of God's power and ever-presence that I would like to share a couple that have meant much to me through the years.

One proof of God's care was demonstrated many years ago when I was a new student of Christian Science and our younger daughter was two years old. We lived on a well-traveled street, and I was very fearful that she would run out of our porch and across the street to play with other children. I always kept careful watch over her. But to overcome my fear I began to pray to understand that where she was, God was there taking care of her. I had learned in Christian Science that she was a child of God.

One day when I looked out to check on her, I could not see her. I left the house and saw our daughter across the street in the arms of a friendly neighbor. An automobile was stopped in the middle of the street. The driver got out of the car and said, "Now I saw a miracle. I saw the child run across the street, and my car just stopped by itself." I was so grateful for this protection, and we had no further incidents of this kind.
