True worship dispels superstition

Superstition can't coexist with Christian worship. Superstition implies many gods—many causes, mostly bad. But the Christian's God is One, infinite, and all the good there is.

God has no evil element and tolerates no evil. He is the Mind and cause of all real being, including spiritual man created in His likeness, everyone's true selfhood. Christ Jesus clearly said, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." John 4:24.

Understanding God enriches worship and so exterminates superstition. When journeying in ancient Greece, where polytheism prevailed, the Christian Apostle Paul saw an altar inscribed "TO THE UNKNOWN GOD." He explained to the Athenians gathered on Mars' Hill that God "made the world and all things therein," that He "is Lord of heaven and earth" and "giveth to all life, and breath, and all things." He added that "in him we live, and move, and have our being; ... For we are also his offspring." See Acts 17:22–28.
