All my life I have been greatly blessed by Christian Science. Many problems have been resolved through total reliance on God. These include the successful completion of school examinations, as well as guidance in financial transactions and in finding satisfying employment, homes, and companionship. Among physical healings in the family are those of so-called childhood diseases, a broken arm, motion sickness, headaches, dizziness, sprains and pain, and seasonal colds. All these healings and many more were accomplished with the help of Christian Science practitioners at various times or through my own growing spiritual understanding.

My most outstanding proof of the efficacy of Christian Science occurred after I became aware of an abnormal growth in my abdomen. When I discovered this condition, I was so alarmed that I arranged for the doctor who had delivered my children to examine me. He diagnosed a large tumor and said that I must have a hysterectomy.

Overwhelmed with fright, I left the doctor's office and immediately telephoned a practitioner, who helped me overcome the feelings of panic and helplessness. I had learned a lesson the hard way; I could see how unnecessary it was to seek a medical diagnosis. I now realized that because matter is unreal and material sense testimony is false, knowledge gained from a physical examination stayed in the realm of erring mortal belief.
