Mental Surgery

God, good, is the only Mind. What God creates is what He knows. His, Mind's, knowledge of something causes it to exist. Because God is Love, everything in His creation has the warm, cared-for goodness of Love. God is Principle, so His creation shows forth the justice and harmony of Principle. God is Spirit, and all His creation is spiritual. God is Life, so health and vitality are reflected in every detail of what God creates. What God did not create is unknown to the divine Mind; therefore it does not really exist.

To mortal sight much is obviously not good, harmonious, spiritual, or healthy. Personal conflicts, unjust situations, material substances, organic structure, and disease exist as realities in the mind of mortals. But such things do not exist of themselves nor do they spring from an objective material world. They are phenomena of the individual and collective mind of mortals—mortal mind.

Physical surgery takes place within the mortally mental sphere, operating to remove or correct a phenomenon of the supposed mind of that sphere. And there are mental healing methods that operate within the same sphere, working through mental suggestion to change the mind of the observer to the point of observing something else. Hypnosis is such a method, and there are other methods involving psychiatric techniques, meditation, positive thinking, or blind faith.
