I want to begin this testimony with some verses from Psalm 23 (1, 2): "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters."

At one period in my life I felt so fatigued and my breathing became so heavy that it was impossible for me to perform the most simple household duties. Then I resolved to sit down and meditate on the fact that this was not my natural condition, since it would indicate that I was not reflecting my creator.

In that moment there came to mind the healing by Mary Baker Eddy of the woman whose breathing was difficult if the wind blew from the east. Mrs. Eddy relates that after she had been sitting by the woman's side for a few moments, the woman commenced to breathe quietly and her condition became normal. The account says (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, pp. 184, 185): "I then requested her to look at the weather-vane. She looked and saw that it pointed due east. The wind had not changed, but her thought of it had and so her difficulty in breathing had gone. The wind had not produced the difficulty. My metaphysical treatment changed the action of her belief on the lungs, and she never suffered again from east winds, but was restored to health."
