My first testimony was given during World War II, and since that time I have enjoyed so many blessings that I must again express my profound gratitude to God for sending us Christian Science. The Bible best describes my sentiments (II Cor. 9:15): "Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift."

Mrs. Eddy writes in the opening lines of the Preface of the great textbook, Science and Health, "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." In obedience to this through the prayerful practice of "leaning on the sustaining infinite," I overcame the insecurity of only seasonal employment and activity in the music field. I had been a professional musician for many years, and that business was sometimes regarded as a precarious means of livelihood.

Many weary and frustrating years were spent in this business until I finally decided to trust God all the way. At this point, although I was entitled to collect unemployment insurance, I wanted to prove that my reliance upon divine Love would meet this need. I had a small amount of money saved and hoped this would take care of the immediate expenses. Weeks passed into months, and nothing unfolded. I was perplexed but not worried, even though my funds were almost completely exhausted. I continued to use my understanding of the spiritual facts of creation and supply. I kept on thanking God and acknowledged Him as my provider and employer.
