Thy holy hill... thy tabernacles (Ps. 43:3)

"The hill of the Lord" or "his holy hill" was often used with reference to the hill of Zion at Jerusalem on which the Temple, the symbol and center of Hebrew worship, was situated. The "tabernacle" (literally "tent") was used as a portable sanctuary by the Israelites during their forty years of journeying through the wilderness, and sometimes on later occasions. Dummelow and the Revised Standard Version take "thy tabernacles" as meaning "thy dwelling."

The evening and the morning were the first day (Gen. 1:5)
