I have been grateful for Christian Science for many years; and meditating upon this fact, I find that special occasions or incidents are like stepping-stones in one's progression from sense to Soul.

When I was of high school age, I was invited to attend a service in The Mother Church. Since I was a member of an orthodox church at the time, I resented the fact that on the front wall, on either side of the rostrum, there were, on the same level, verses quoting words of Christ Jesus and some lines from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Not knowing that Science and Health interprets the teachings of Jesus, I clung to old beliefs and upheld the idea that no one should be regarded as being on the same level as the Master.

In later years I searched for a satisfying answer to what and where God really is. Attendance at a Christian Science lecture was the beginning of my study of this Science—this new-old religion. And of course I found Mrs. Eddy's rightful place in and through her writings. Later I returned to The Mother Church, attending a Sunday evening service, and was happy to feel that now there was no further resistance.
