I am very grateful that Mrs. Eddy made a provision for practitioners in the Christian Science movement. With their help I have had many wonderful demonstrations of Truth and Love. I Some of these were instantaneous, and some took a little more time and study. Those requiring more time brought much spiritual growth.

While I was in grade school, I received an injury to my eye. An examination by a doctor was required. He stated that unless I covered the injured eye and remained in a darkened room for six months, I would become blind.

I am grateful to say that my mother did not accept this mortal testimony but did prayerful work in line with the following passage from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 214): "How transient a sense is mortal sight, when a wound on the retina may end the power of light and lens! But the real sight or sense is not lost. Neither age not accident can interfere with the senses of Soul, and there are no other real senses."
