Ability from God

[Of special interest to young men and women]

Christian Science teaches that God is Mind, infinite Life, Truth, and Love, and that He is forever imparting all good impartially and without limit to His spiritual reflection, man. Since Spirit is the substance and source of all good, the nature of good must be spiritual and not material. God's gifts to His beloved children are in the form of spiritual ideas. These gifts, when gratefully received and entertained by the individual, reveal the allness of good and its ever-present law of harmony and satisfaction.

The understanding of this truth brings many blessings into human experience, endowing men with needed opportunity and ability. The belief that man is a mortal separated from God and that some men express or possess more or less of good than others is a mistake about God and man and must be cast out of human consciousness, for that belief would tend to limit one's ability. Mrs. Eddy writes, "As a drop of water is one with the ocean, a ray of light one with the sun, even so God and man, Father and son, are one in being."  Message to The Mother Church for 1902, p. 12;

Man coexists with God and inevitably reflects the divine nature. The understanding of this truth enables one to do his work perfectly, for it destroys fear based on a personal sense of limited ability.
