In the Bible we read (John 8:32), "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." The meaning of these words was revealed to my husband and me when we turned to Christian Science in an hour of need. Our daughter was afflicted with an ear infection, and the doctor had said an operation would be necessary. We had heard of Christian Science through a loved one and decided to get to know more of this religion. As a result no operation was performed, and with a practitioner's help our daughter was healed within a week. At the same time our son and another daughter were healed of enlarged tonsils and adenoids and constant earaches.

On another occasion our son and our eldest daughter were healed of Saint Vitus's dance in a short period of time, and there were no aftereffects. In Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy we read (p. 272), "The spiritual sense of truth must be gained before Truth can be understood." And on the same page is written, "It is the spiritualization of thought and Christianization of daily life, in contrast with the results of the ghastly farce of material existence; it is chastity and purity, in contrast with the downward tendencies and earthward gravitation of sensualism and impurity, which really attest the divine origin and operation of Christian Science." These truths have been most helpful many times.

Many other healings have taken place in our family, including those of periodic quinsy, pleurisy, burns, injuries, and hemorrhaging. Sorrow at the passing of a loved one has been overcome.
