God's Constant Blessing

In early Biblical times the blessing a father bestowed on a child was highly prized. At that time it was largely regarded as a personal blessing given to a son (sometimes only to the firstborn son) at the time of the father's death. Isaac, for example, intended his blessing for Esau, but Jacob stole the blessing by pretending to be Esau.

Later, when the fatherhood of God became more evident, we read that "the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, The Lord bless thee, and keep thee" (Num. 6:22-24). And in Proverbs (10:22) we read, "The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it."

In Christian Science we learn that God is our Father-Mother, the Life, Soul, and Principle of man. Man is the reflection of God, always blessed with all that belongs to his divine source. Health, strength, purity, intelligence, wisdom, limitless being, spiritual vision, indestructibility, immortality, are bestowed on man constantly by the nature of his existence. God is Mind, and man is idea.
