Some fourteen years ago a kind...

Some fourteen years ago a kind neighbor rang at my door. "I felt led to ring your doorbell," she said, and she presented me with Christian Science at a time when I had reached the very depth of despair and could see no human way to go forward. I had been left with two young boys, who looked to me for comfort and support when I felt I had lost all comfort and support myself, and my grief made me feel there was no point in going on.

However, as this neighbor unfolded some of the truths of Christian Science the first rays of hope penetrated my darkened consciousness, and I began to drink in the truth in great and thirsty gulps and immediately to put it into practice. From then to now, Science has been a strong staff upon which I have leaned heavily, and it has never failed me.

I confidently put my hand in God's. I turned to Him, applying the rules of Christian Science to all business problems, and with His guidance I was successful. He became the confidant with whom discussed all problems concerning the boys. I found Him to be such a marvelous Parent that the boys grew to fine young manhood, a credit to their Father. Because I found Him to be the most wonderful companion, joy returned, and I found satisfying friends and even a loving human companion. Is it any wonder that I am more grateful than I can ever say for Christian Science? I can only try to let my life attest my gratitude.
