Error Cannot Talk

"Error has no will or power to suggest, oppose, or harm"

The expression, "Error told me," is sometimes used by Christian Scientists when referring to the aggressive suggestions of the carnal mind. But does error actually talk? The Science of Christianity explains that God is universal Truth; therefore God must be the source of all that is true. Error denies this fact with the claim that life, truth, and intelligence are the outcome of matter. Mrs. Eddy repeatedly refutes this claim in her writings. In "Unity of Good" we read (p. 25), "Matter cannot talk; and hence, whatever it appears to say of itself is a lie."
