Great Bend, Kansas (First Church).

The dedication services of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Great Bend, Kansas, will be held Sunday at 11.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. in the church edifice.

First organized as a Christian Science Society [recognized by The Mother Church in 1913], the church was officially recognized in 1947. The members met at various locations for several years. In 1927, after having obtained a state charter, they purchased a residence at 2218 16th Street in which to hold services. Services were conducted at that address until 1955, when a building, formerly the Trinity Lutheran Church, at Lakin and Odell, was purchased—Great Bend Daily Tribune (May 9, 1961).
