We determine whether [Christianity] is a good thing by putting it into practice. . . .

The best manhood and womanhood we have discovered is that which makes the nearest approach to the pattern we have in the Man of Nazareth. When it comes to enduring worth, fine personality and real happiness, we know of nothing that goes so far and works so effectually in producing these results as the religion of Jesus Christ. . . .
