Hillsboro, Ohio (Society).

The dedication services of Christian Science Society, Hillsboro, Ohio, will be held Sunday, June 29, at 10.30 a.m. and at 3 p.m. The public is cordially invited to attend.

As early as 1898, meetings of Christian Scientists were held in private homes in Hillsboro. In 1941 the group received recognition as Christian Science Society, Hillsboro, by The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. At this time, Sunday services, Sunday School, and Wednesday evening testimony meetings were established.

In 1952 the society purchased the building on the present site at the corner of West Walnut and South West Streets and remodeled it into a church.

A Reading Room, an essential part of a Church of Christ, Scientist, was established in the church building. There have been collected all the issues of The Christian Science Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel dating back to the first editions. These now comprise part of the present library.

The Reading Room is open to the public, offering a quiet place for study of the Bible and Christian Science literature which may also be borrowed or purchased.
