It was after my husband began attending a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, that I became aware of great changes in him. He was certainly much happier, and I could see that his understanding of God had brought about the change. This, however, did not convince me that Christian Science was right for me. I had been very much opposed to what I believed this religion to be, and I had refused it for myself and for our two small children many times.

At a time when our baby boy was ill, the doctor stated that the child was suffering from an allergy, and he prescribed shots four times a week for seven months. I mentioned to the doctor that my husband was a student of Christian Science and had been very loving regarding the existing situation. Much to my surprise, he replied, "Why don't you try Christian Science for your boy?" And then he added, "Your husband is part of your family too."

I remember feeling dejected, for I had no faith whatsoever in Christian Science; however, I went to the car where my husband was waiting and told him that I would try Christian Science for thirty days. The doctor had told me that the baby could not suffer any harm if the injections were not administered for that period of time. My husband just smiled and thanked me.
