"To those leaning on the sustaining...

"To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, Pref., p vii). How grateful I am that I learned to lean on this "sustaining infinite" as a small child, for my blessings have been many indeed. My parents placed me in the Christian Science Sunday School at an early age, and the training I received there has helped me on many occasions.

My first testing time came when I was ten. An epidemic of a skin disease occurred in our school, and I came home manifesting it. For a while I experienced much discomfort, but my mother and I kept working as we are taught to do in Christian Science until the healing was complete. I missed four months of school, but was promoted to the next grade without question. In the many years since then, I have always taken my stand for Truth and have never doubted its power.

In my freshman year at a university, I had the privilege of helping to form a Christian Science Organization and had the added privilege of serving in it during the following three years. Through this experience, I learned to put God first, and my college career was joyous and fruitful. In my junior year at the university it was my desire to be elected to the senior women's honorary society. As the time for this election drew near, a great fear that my grades would not be high enough seized me, but I recognized this fear as error and began to do prayerful mental work.
