"Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me" (Ps. 51:10). This passage has been a guiding light to me from childhood. It is with a heart full of love and gratitude to God and our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, that I submit this testimony of thanks.

While I was experiencing a nervous breakdown, a Christian Science practitioner helped me to understand Mrs. Eddy's words in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 9), " 'Love thine enemies' is identical with 'Thou hast no enemies.'" One by one the enemies of fear, pride, hurt feelings, overwork, and the like, were replaced with love, humility, and gratitude. Many years of business activity followed this healing, and I learned further lessons of active waiting, trustfulness, and trustworthiness.

A recent healing of a hardened sty came through my knowing that "the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword" (Hebr. 4:12). My gratitude would not be completely expressed without a mention of the divine protection I have had during many travels on land and by air.
