Christian Science came into my...

Christian Science came into my life in 1925. I concerned myself very little with it, but I did attend regularly the Sunday services and the Wednesday testimony meetings, which I thought were beautiful. However, when I began to be troubled by sickness, I started to study more thoroughly the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. With the help of a practitioner, I was quickly healed.

On page 66 of the textbook, Mrs. Eddy says, "Trials are proofs of God's care." And farther on she says: "Sorrow has its reward. It never leaves us where it found us." This fact I experienced in full measure in 1954. I was suffering from an ugly growth on my face, which the doctors had said was an incurable cancer. With the aid of a practitioner, I learned that the condition was no part of my real selfhood.

I had to lay aside many errors, particularly that of faultfinding. When I recognized this error and saw man as perfect, as Jesus saw him, my healing was complete, and not even a scar remained. Reliance on divine omnipotence had made me free. I was eighty-three years of age at the time of this healing.
