My first healing in Christian Science...

My first healing in Christian Science took place over thirty years ago and fulfilled for me the prophecy in Isaiah (9:2), "The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined." It was indeed Christ, Truth, that healed me. I had been in and out of hospitals for twelve months and had been told by physicians that there was little hope of my ever being fully well. I was physically sick with chronic ulcers of the stomach and mentally upset with fear and the worry of never being well.

At this stage a friend recommended that I try Christian Science. With the help of a practitioner, my thought was turned into the healthy channels of this beautiful teaching. Mortal mind's so-called laws of health and heredity were overcome when I learned the truth concerning God and man, made in His image and likeness. In a few weeks I was able to eat, drink, and enjoy all that was set before me. Christ Jesus' words were a great help at that time (Matt. 6:25): "Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?"

Christian Science aided me in bringing up my family of five, who were almost always healthy and happy, and all attended a Christian Science Sunday School. When a small boy, my son fell from a tree and broke his arm. With the help of a practitioner, the healing was completed in a week through mental surgery alone.
