In the Bible we read (Hebr. 4:12),...

In the Bible we read (Hebr. 4:12), "The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword." When my brother's little girl was six years of age, a large cyst appeared on the edge of her eyelid. It detracted from the child's beauty, and her father was distressed about it. One evening a prominent surgeon was a guest at our home for dinner. He keenly observed the child and then, turning to my brother, said: "It's definitely a cyst and should be removed. I'll send you to someone who is excellent with children."

I longed to help the child work out the problem in Christian Science, but at my brother's request I took her to the doctor. After an examination, he advised me to bring her back in one year, since he thought it was too soon to remove the cyst.

I assured my niece that everything would be all right and took her home. My brother had no objection to my giving the child Christian Science treatment; so I hastened to a Reading Room. Revelation came with these words of Mrs. Eddy's from Science and Health (p. 242): "In patient obedience to a patient God, let us labor to dissolve with the universal solvent of Love the adamant of error,— self-will, self-justification, and self-love,—which wars against spirituality and is the law of sin and death." "Dissolve with the universal solvent of Love"—I kept repeating those words. When I left the Reading Room, I knew all was well. Several days later the cyst was gone.
