It is with a deep sense of love...

It is with a deep sense of love and gratitude for Christian Science that I give this testimony. Christian Science was introduced into our family when, as a small lad, my father accompanied a neighbor to hear Mary Baker Eddy speak in Chicago, Illinois. Several years later, when he was suffering from an injured eye, my father recalled that experience, and with the help of a Christian Science practitioner he was healed. Thereafter both of my parents became earnest students of Christian Science.

I shall never cease to be grateful for having been raised in a Christian Science home and having had the wonderful privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School under the guidance of consecrated teachers. This preparatory work and study have helped me in school, in the home, and in the business world.

About ten years ago a rash appeared on my feet and then gradually covered my whole body. The irritation and pain were so severe that it was sometimes impossible to sleep at night. Several months went by with no relief. Through the loving help of practitioners, who worked for me at different times, it was revealed to me that I must take my stand for Truth and refuse to accept the material evidence. Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health (p. 395), "Like the great Exemplar, the healer should speak to disease as one having authority over it, leaving Soul to master the false evidences of the corporeal senses and to assert its claims over mortality and disease."
