About thirty-three years ago Christian Science was vividly brought to my notice by the healing of a sister, who had suffered for some years from a serious internal difficulty. The change in her from a troubled semi-invalid to a happy, active young mother was very marked.

Seeking for an explanation of this transformation, I began to take a spasmodic interest in the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. From time to time I would exclaim: "The standard is too high. The demands are too great. I am not good enough!" Then the textbook would be put away in a drawer, and I would try to forget it. But the Christ, Truth, was insistently saying (Rev. 3:20), "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." At last I opened the door of consciousness and let in the healing, saving Christ.

Since that time I have experienced many lovely instances of the care and love of God for His children. It is becoming clear to me that it is as natural for God to heal as it is for the sun to shine and as normal for us to turn to Him in every need as it is for the flower to turn to the light.
