FEAR HAS NO PLACE

Men do not fear that morning will not dawn.
Though darkness lingers and prolongs the night;
They know the universe that God's Word made
Responds to His decree, "Let there be light."

Men do not fear that stars will lose their course
Or worlds be lost within oblivion's hold:
Men do not doubt but that the least of these
Are safely held in their creator's fold.

Nor should men fear that ills of mortal sense
Have power against true being, strong and whole
Within the precincts of God's love and care;
Let men rejoice—life is secure in Soul.
