I desire to express my gratitude...

I desire to express my gratitude for Christian Science, which years ago rescued me from deep depression, due to a prolonged case of neurasthenia. I had had treatment from one of the foremost neurologists in England, as well as the services of one of the best general doctors in London. Medical attention had continued over a long period without bringing perceptible improvement, and I knew not where to turn for health.

A friend recommended that I try Christian Science, and when I told the doctor I proposed to do so he expressed his strong approval. I relied on my study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, as well as on the explanations of a friend who was a Christian Scientist. Gradually, inhibitions began to fall away from me, and freedom was gained. I have since enjoyed better health and a more useful and active life than I did before the difficulty.

Mrs. Eddy writes on page 128 of the textbook, Science and Health: "A knowledge of the Science of being develops the latent abilities and possibilities of man. It extends the atmosphere of thought, giving mortals access to broader and higher realms. It raises the thinker into his native air of insight and perspicacity." I have been able to demonstrate in some degree the truth of this statement.
