So deep is my gratitude and so...

So deep is my gratitude and so numerous are my blessings as a result of the study and application of the truth taught in Christian Science that I desire to acknowledge some of the benefits received. I became interested in this Science in 1914 when I saw my sister's nine-months-old baby healed in Christian Science. He could not retain food and was so thin and weak that he could hardly hold up his head. Other complications set in also, and as the doctors had done all they could, a Christian Science practitioner was called.

She told the parents to give the baby some milk and then go to bed, for God would take care of the child. The child drank the milk and then slept soundly. From then on he was well. This demonstration of the healing power of Truth was so wonderful that I became a student of Christian Science. I have had numerous physical healings, including one of asthma.

When our daughter passed on at the age of thirteen years I studied earnestly in the endeavor to learn that there is no death, since all is Life. About that time a sermon by Mrs. Eddy, entitled "Life," was reprinted in the Sentinel of February 2, 1918. In this sermon Mrs. Eddy explains that there is no death. She says, "From facts apparent to the understanding and gathered from the Science of Soul we know that man is immortal, and that the shadow we call death is but a phase of mortal belief." This beautiful sermon by our Leader healed me of my grief and brought joy and happiness. When, some years later, my husband passed on, I again referred to this sermon, and again grief was dispelled.
