It is with a heart full of gratitude that I write this testimony of the many blessings I have received in the past thirty-three years through the study of Christian Science. When I heard of Christian Science I had been in the United States only a short time after emigrating from Holland. At that time I thought I did not need Science, but I was very glad that there was a religion that could heal people without the use of medicine or doctors.

Later I began to attend a Church of Christ, Scientist. My first healing was of pleurisy. I knew very little of Christian Science, but prayerful work was taken up by a practitioner, and I was told how to study the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly. One day the disease appeared to be so serious that my husband decided to stay home from business. I turned my thought wholeheartedly to God and prayed. After that I fell asleep. When I awakened about ten minutes later, I was completely healed. I informed my husband of this wonderful healing and told him that he could go to his place of business, as I was entirely well. My gratitude was boundless. I felt like a new woman. Numerous other healings have followed through the years. Colds, so-called children's diseases, and various other ailments have been healed through the application of Christian Science.

An experience which proved the healing power of God occurred about two and a half years ago. While I was driving to town with my grandson the car went into a skid on some ice, turned completely around, hit a tree, and went over on its side. It was later declared a complete loss. All I said when this was going on was, "God, help me," and He certainly did. I immediately reached forward from the back seat, where I had been thrown, and turned off the ignition. My grandson started to cry, but he stopped when I told him that he was all right. At that moment two men arrived and helped us out of the car. I asked to be taken home, and the men gladly took us.
