OUR SECURE DWELLING PLACE

Could any dwelling place be more secure and worthy of achievement than "the secret place of the most High," as promised in that assuring ninety-first Psalm of David? Could any joy be greater than that experienced when thought is lifted from mortal sense concepts to the spiritual understanding of man as God's image and likeness?

This understanding further assures us that the promises which follow in verses nine and ten of this same Psalm are also true: "Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling."

A sincere sense of gratitude fills the heart when we remember that we may always flee to this dwelling place if the storms of material thinking have seemed for a time to blind us to the road that leads to our real home in spiritual consciousness. Christian Science teaches us the wisdom of being alert to shut out every erroneous thought that would prevent us from seeing our neighbor or ourself as less than the child of our heavenly Father. We must see all as His perfect spiritual ideas. Error in any form, if entertained, hinders our progress Spiritward.
