Third Church of Christ, Scientist, Cincinnati, 1009 Overlook Avenue, will be dedicated Sunday. ... Work and devotion of the members and the help of friends and other Churches of Christ, Scientist, in Cincinnati have made this day possible. ...

The church was organized as a society on February 23, 1942, with sixteen charter members and was recognized by The Mother Church in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 4, 1942, as Christian Science Society (Western Hills).

In November, 1943, the society held its first lecture. For the first ten years services were held in the Price Hill Masonic Temple auditorium and in May, 1951, the society became known as Third Church of Christ, Scientist, Cincinnati.

On August 25, 1952, the present church edifice was purchased from the Westminster Presbyterian Church. ... Since then, there has been a great deal of renovation, and for the past two years a Reading Room has been maintained in the building.
