Plans for the new building, first discussed in the fall of 1950, were completed at a meeting on December 30, 1953. Work was started in May, 1954, and completed in September of the same year.

The construction was financed through contributions and bequests of friends and members of the society and through the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy and the Selina C. Cornish Funds. ...

Christian Science Society, Greensburg, was organized May 8, 1912, ten years after a small group of students held services in their homes. In November, 1916, a residence at the present location was purchased and remodeled in October, 1917, for church purposes. Dedication services were held September 28, 1919.

A Reading Room has been maintained in the church building since 1917. The new building is of block construction with a stone veneer.
